Organizational updates:
January 2024 marks our fourth month as a startup nonprofit creative reuse center and we are excited about the year ahead! Here are a couple updates on our progress:
- We had our first official board meeting at the end of December 2023, where we adopted our bylaws and elected officers. Learn more about who is involved with Utica Creative Reuse on our About Us page!
- We were able to apply with the IRS for 501(c)(3) status, and our application is pending! We want to get this designation because it:
- will ensure that all donations made to our organization are tax-deductible,
- will allow us to apply for grants and other opportunities that we wouldn’t otherwise have access to
- is needed to open our art supply thrift store!
