Your contributions to Utica Creative Reuse not only keep usable materials out of the waste stream, but also make it possible for us to offer free art workshops in the community. We are excited for the classes we have planned for March using donated materials!

Join us at any of our upcoming events to learn more about creative reuse or drop off donations of unwanted, usable supplies or materials for arts and crafts! What: Pop up donation site for unwanted, usable arts and craft materials and supplies

Circle weaving Saturday March 9th 12pm- 2pm at Love and Stitches 173 Whitesboro Street Yorkville, NY 13495. Learn how to weave a circle using a cardboard hand loom. Register at Uticacreativereuse.org/events. Free workshop!

What: Learn how to weave a circle with a cardboard handloom, all materials provided by Utica Creative Reuse.

What: Upcycle an old pill bottle into a mini sewing kit with a pincushion and a key chain! All materials provided by Utica Creative Reuse.

Special Upcoming Events in 2024

Trash to Treasure Art Challenge 2024 Utica NY. An initiative challenging community members to clean up litter and create art out of found objects and materials considered trash. Earth Day cleanup event April 21, 2024 from 1- 3pm, meeting point 421 Seneca Street, Utica, NY. Project submission deadling May 31, 2024. Group Exhibition July 2024. Learn more at Trash-to-Treasure.com. This project is made possible through the CNY Arts Grants for Regional Arts and Cultural Engagement regrant program thanks to a New York State Senate Initiative supported by the NYS Legislature, the Office of the Governor and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.

Trash to Treasure Art Challenge: Call for Artists

It’s a familiar sight every spring in Central New York: as the snow melts, all of the litter that was buried over the winter emerges. This year, take the Trash to Treasure Art Challenge to clean up trash anywhere in Utica, NY and turn litter into art!

Trash to Treasure is a community art project designed to engage community members in exploring creative reuse. Artists of all ages and abilities encouraged to participate.

Call for Artists: Clean up litter in Utica, NY and create art out of found objects!

Submit documentation of your cleanup and art project by May 31, 2024 to be considered for inclusion in a group exhibition in July 2024.

Artists selected for the gallery exhibition will receive a $100 stipend.

Earth Day Eve Cleanup

Happy Earth Day 2024! Pick up free trash bags and gloves at the Utica Vintage Club, and join us for a community cleanup, starting in downtown Utica. Supplies provided by Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful.
