This month our organization is turning one year old! We held our first pop-up donation site and free art workshop for Utica Creative Reuse on September 9, 2023. Since then, we have rescued over 5,500 pounds of materials from the waste stream, held 77 free pop-up events with over 600 participants, and in June 2024 we opened our pop-up arts & crafts supply thrift shop!
We are so beyond grateful to everyone who has helped us at Utica Creative Reuse to get this far by giving their time, energy, space, and support to furthering our mission ❤️We didn’t do this alone, and we are so thankful for you all!
We have big plans for the future, but it will take time, resources, and help from our community to realize our dreams of moving to the next step. Almost everyone who visits us asks if we have a permanent location yet– we can’t wait for that to happen either, and that’s why it is our number one fundraising goal!
Our Mohawk Valley Gives fundraiser starts today, Monday 9/16. Your contributions will support our goal of establishing a permanent creative reuse center in Utica, NY. A permanent location would allow us to expand our shop hours, add more free workshop programming, and increase our capacity to keep usable materials out of the waste stream!
All giving for this fundraising event will start Monday 9/16 and end at 11:59PM on Sunday, September 22, so make sure to get your gift in on time to participate!
