Seeking Volunteers for Repair Cafes! 

Do you have mending, repairing, refurbishing, or other fix-it skills? We would love to expand the kinds of repairs that we can offer to the community at our Repair Cafés!

What is a Repair Cafe? 

Our Repair Cafés are 2-hour-long events where community members can bring items that need to be fixed and get help from a volunteer with diagnosing and repairing the problem. 

It’s a Learning Experience: 

The goal of a repair café is to bring together members of the community to share knowledge and skills in problem solving and repairing. We hope these events will encourage attendees’ confidence in their ability to attempt basic repairs that can keep items out of the landfill, and salvage belongings of sentimental value.

We may not be able to fix everything today, but by encouraging each other to problem-solve before disposing of a broken item, we hope to contribute to waste reduction in our community!

What to Expect

• Monthly, 2 hour event, no minimum commitment required to volunteer
• Everyone is asked to sign a general liability waiver acknowledging the risks and limitations of repairing items at these events to protect volunteers, attendees, and our organization.
• Attendees register ahead of time so we can gather information on what repairs will need to be addressed, and what tools or materials might be needed to attempt the repair. 
• We recommend all volunteers bring their own item to work on during the event if there is downtime
