May Creative Reuse Events
Join us for a free event in May! This month we will be making found-object art, celebrating one year with the Art Club, making gifts for Mother’s Day, learning how to sew, fixing stuff, and making time to play!
- Saturday 5/2, 11am – 1pm: Sensory Play Group Explore multiple stations of sensory play spaces made of upcycled materials. This event is geared towards 2 – 5 year olds, but kids of all ages are welcome!

RSVP for this FREE EVENT - Saturday 5/9, 2pm – 4pm: Art Club A free event open to all for making art and making friends. Celebrate one year of Art Club this month with us, and come make whatever you want at this event!
RSVP for this FREE EVENT - Thursday 5/14, 6pm – 8pm: Found-Object Sculpture Learn basic assemblage skills and adorn a picture frame using found objects!
Register for this FREE EVENT - Thursday 5/21, 6pm – 8pm: Sewing by Hand Learn basic hand-sewing stitches and techniques so you can mend or embellish fabric items!
Register for this FREE EVENT - Saturday 5/16 & Saturday 5/23, 1pm – 3pm: Found-Object Mosaics Learn how to create mosaic art using found-objects and traditional techniques in this two-part class!
Register for this FREE EVENT - Thursday 5/28, 6pm-8pm: Repair Café Bring something that is broken or needs mending. Sign up to volunteer, or register to get something fixed!
Opportunities at UCR
- Call for Artists: Create artwork for Trash to Treasure 2026! Selected works will be shown in a group exhibition on view at Utica Creative Reuse, July 2026. Exhibiting artists will receive an honorarium for their work.
- Teach a Class: Contact us about teaching a class a Utica Creative Reuse. Instructors are offered an honorarium for their time, and class materials are supplied by Utica Creative Reuse. Classes are free for the public to attend!

Donations of Materials and Supplies
Donations of arts and crafts materials and supplies are accepted on Fridays at Utica Creative Reuse! Please check our list of accepted materials before donating!
