September Events

Registration for September events is open! Sign up for a free class or event at uticacreativereuse.org/events.

• Sensory Play Group: Saturday 9/12, 11am – 1pm. Explore different stations of sensory play spaces made of upcycled materials, geared towards kids aged 2-5yo!

• Paper Bag Junk Journals: Thursday 9/17, 6-8pm. Learn how to upcycle paper bags into journals and discover the joys of junk journaling!

• Jewelry-Making: Saturday 9/19, 1-3pm. Learn how to use jump rings and create a hanging charm for your bag!

• Art Club: Thursday 9/24, 4-6pm, Make art & make new friends! Try a new creative activity in a supportive environment, all are welcome. See @artsclubutica on Instagram for details!

• Repair Café: Thursday 9/24, 6-8pm. Bring something that’s broken or needs mending, and work with a community volunteer to get it fixed!

• Pinhole Cameras: Saturday 9/26 and 10/3, 11am – 12:30pm. Learn how to upcycle any container into a camera!

Volunteer Opportunities

We regularly invite volunteers to help us sort donations on Fridays, or fix things at a Repair Café! We also have tasks that can be done any time during our open hours!

• Paint Testers: testing acrylic and oil paints for quality control (Any time we’re open!)
• ReRollers: untangling yarn and re-rolling it (Any time we’re open!)
• Adopt-a-Section: tidy, organize, or make a new display in the store to showcase your favorite section! (Any time we’re open!)
• Donation Day Team: General sorting, researching, and quality control of donated items (Fridays!)
• Repair Café: Help us fix items for our neighbors that are broken or in need of mending! (Last Thursday of the month)
• Special Projects: Help us repair things around the shop, or let us know if you have special skills you would like to contribute! (Variable depending on the project!)

Mohawk Valley Gives: 9/18/26

It’s almost time for our annual fundraiser with Mohawk Valley Gives! Mark your calendar for Friday, September 18 and help us raise money for sustainable and accessible art supplies and education!
